My name is Andrew Kozma. I am a writer of speculative fiction and editor of the same. I also provide individual workshops in writing poetry and fiction.

As a writer who doesn’t show his face very often on social media, here is my face. The face of a definitely real person, or a facsimile thereof.

After graduating with a Ph.D. in creative writing from the University of Houston, I spent several years as a bartender while working on my writing. Eventually, I returned to teaching, both as an adjunct at the University of Houston and via community creative writing workshops through organizations such as Inprint and Grackle & Grackle.

Books

I have published two books of poetry over the years. City of Regret, co-winner of the Zone 3 First Book Prize, was published in 2007. Orphanotrophia, winner of the +GAMMA RAYS BOOK PRIZE, was published in 2021 by Cobalt Press.

Editing and Workshops

I have experience as a workshop leader and a freelance editor, with my specialties being poetry and speculative fiction. Over the years, I have worked with copy text on business websites, poetry and novel manuscripts, and individual stories and poems. If you would like help with your work, either through editing or a workshop, I can help.

Postcards

In 2012, I created The Postcard Story through Kickstarter. Most recently, I have been doing similar through my Patreon with a project called Elsewhen Postcards, which involves unique flash fiction postcards written monthly for subscribers, and freely posted every weekday for all.
